With flight connections from Kittilä Airport—just a 45-minute drive from the cabin to Helsinki and other major EU cities—and optional transfers (book in advance to confirm availability), your journey to nature has never been easier or more inviting.
Your Cabin Experience
Your cabin is nestled in Lapland's true wilderness and nature, a 25 minute drive from the town of Äkäslompolo - a dream for nature and skiing. In Äkäslompolo, you will find shops, restaurants, and endless opportunities for more adventure. Whether you’re looking to immerse yourself in nature or enjoy the comforts of a cosy home, this cabin offers everything you need. You’ll step into a warm, inviting space with a comfortable double bedroom, large living room with sofa bed, kitchen, bathroom and sauna. Large windows let you soak in breathtaking views of the lake, the nearby hills, nature and wilderness.
From the cabin, you can explore at your own pace. Lace up your boots or clip on your skis, and you’ll find yourself on trails perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, or skiing. In Äkäslompolo, you’ll discover even more activities, from snowmobile safaris to summer lake paddling, giving you a chance to experience Lapland in every season. After a day of adventure, you’ll love returning to unwind by the fire or in the soothing heat of your private sauna. Feel the stress melt away as you enjoy the peaceful surroundings and watch the sun dip below the horizon—or the Northern Lights dance across the winter sky. Our equipment rental and tours are available as an additional service to enhance your exploration of Lapland:
- Snowshoes: Perfect for quiet, meditative walks on soft, powdery trails or a hike up the hill beside the cabin.
- Backcountry Skis (OAC): Built for those seeking to venture off the beaten path with confidence or to cover more ground.
- Cross-Country Skis: Enjoy a smooth, rhythmic glide that connects you intimately with the landscape. Äkäslompolo and Ylläs have over 350km of trails to explore!
In addition to self-guided adventures, we offer a range of guided tours and activities. Join us on snowshoeing or skiing excursions, and explore the magic of husky activities. Guests are welcome to visit our friendly huskies and participate in optional programmes. Please note that husky activities, require advance booking to secure your spot on these unforgettable journeys.

Autumn (September– early November):
- Waterproof jacket & trousers (layers are key)
- Warm mid-layers (wool/fleece)
- Thermal base layers (top & bottom)
- Warm hat & gloves
- Comfortable walking shoes or boots (preferably waterproof)
- Small day backpack
- Reusable water bottle
- Swimwear
Winter (November–April):
- Insulated winter jacket (down or synthetic)
- Snow boots or warm winter shoes (2 sizes larger than your regular shoe size - you will need to layer with two socks and have air circulating. Tight shoes = cold feet! )
- Thermal base layers (top & bottom – wool recommended)
- Mid-layers (fleece/wool jumper)
- Warm hat, scarf/buff & insulated gloves or mittens
- Extra socks (wool or thermal)
- Swimwear
- Headlamp (especially December–January when it’s dark most of the day)
- Day backpack
- Thermos Flask
- Buffet Breakfast
- Bedding
- Towels

- Host Assistance
- Other Meals & Groceries (Your cabin has a fully equipped kitchen. Local shops are available in Äkäslompolo & Kittilä)

- Extra activities or add-ons not listed in your booking (e.g. additional guided snowshoe or ski trips, husky activities — available by request)
Check-in is from 16:00 (4:00 PM)
You’re welcome to arrive any time after that — we’ll make sure your cabin is warm, ready, and waiting for you.
Check-out is at 11:00 AM
If you’ve booked a transfer with us from Kittilä Airport or Äkäslompolo, we’ll coordinate timing directly with you based on your arrival details.
We understand that life happens, and plans can change. However, due to the small-scale nature of our retreats and the inclusion of private accommodation, we kindly ask for your understanding with the following policy:
- Cancellations made 45 days or more before arrival will receive a full refund, minus a €25 admin fee.
- Cancellations made 30 - 45 days before arrival will receive a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival are non-refundable. No-shows or early departures are non-refundable.
If you need to cancel due to illness, personal circumstances, or travel disruptions, we recommend having personal travel insurance to cover your costs.
